SCOUT BANANA applies the cooperative principles to the way it operates. One of those principles includes open and democratic membership. Our goal is to build a strong network of students and young people dedicated to acting as Allies in Development for better health in Africa. Becoming a member is so much more than just donating to an organization, it means active participation in decision-making and day-to-day activities of Network groups.

Why is there a fee to be a Member?
The membership fee ensures your buy-in to the organization. It gives you the ability to say that you own a small part of our Network. Here is a rough idea of how your membership fee impacts our organization:
- Keeping 501(c)3 status by submitting reports to the IRS and allows your group access
- Maintaining the website and online tools
- Developing campus and educational resources
- Supporting Network student group event and start-up grants
- Voting rights
At the end of every year, Members will be able to vote where extra membership fee funds will be donated.
